U2 Clinch Ivor Novello Best Song

U2 won the prestigious Best Song Award at the Ivor Novello Songwriting Awards in London today.

Walk On claimed 'Best Song Musically and Lyrically' and Edge flew to London to receive the award on behalf of the band.

In the Dance category Kylie Minogue won for 'Can't Get You Out Of My Head' while Ash's Tim Wheeler was also honoured with Best Contemporary Song for 'Shining Light'.

The awards honour the contribution of songwriters, composers and music publishers to the music industry in 2001 and are selected by the British Academy of Composers and Songwriters.
